Seasons 1-8 see shippers placing bids for two of the shipments on uShip. This is an auction reverse style. Bids contain comments about the potential risks and costs as well as the motivations, and abilities. If the time-limit for an auction expires, the job is typically given to the bidder with the lowest price but at the discretion of the client however, it can be awarded to a higher bidder who has a greater average feedback rating from past customers. To break up any ties, feedback ratings are employed. Season 9 has shippers receiving their cargo from a shipping agency. The bidding process isn’t shown. Shippers load their cargos and try to deliver the cargo in good order by the deadline set by the receiver or client. When the cargo is delivered, customers provide feedback ratings. Each shipper's revenue, as well as the expenses (fuel, labor and late-delivery penalties) will be displayed on the screen at the end. The amount of the bid is subtracted in order to calculate the overall profit and loss. Sometimes, the shipper will plan to transport additional loads during the same journey. This amount will be added to their tally. Sometimes, the shipper might not be able to complete a job because of concerns regarding the weight of the load and road safety. In some cases, one of the shippers will enlist the services of a third party to complete the job. The two shippers decide what to do with the proceeds. In seasons 1-8 the progression of each shipment is interspersed by humorous critiques from the other shippers.
