Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football and community service. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children of Lucious the Jessie and Lucious Selmon. They grew up on a family farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. The second football was that Selmon is the youngest of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy received the Outland and Lombardi Awards for being the most effective lineman in the USA. During his three-year tenure as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma and Sooners' starting quarterback, they went 32-1-1 and won two national titles. He received a third scholarship in 1975 and named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon obtained a degree as an educator. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in college. After graduation, Lee Roy settled in Tampa and spent the next nine years playing for the Buccaneers. Three times, he was named All-Pro. He began his business career. He began his career in 1988. was working as an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank in Tampa. He worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute and the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. He was no surprise that the year 1982 was when The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy among the top 10 outstanding youngsters across the country. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 7-foot-2. When he was playing college, he commanded the team of 1975. He joined University of South Florida in 1993, as assistant director of sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame by the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 and in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. have been awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma presented it.
